Background
Edgefield County was created in 1785 when the Old Ninety Six District of Upper South Carolina was divided into smaller districts, or counties, by act of the State Legislature.

James Morgan, Francis Morgan and Lucinda Morgan by next friend Eli Morgan vs Martha Glover & others.

William Glover died intestate leaving widow Martha Glover and children William, David, Matthew, Archibald Glover, Clarissa married to Samuel Mitchell, Elizabeth married to John Livingston, Mary married to Edward Holloway, Frances who married Thos Holloway, Martha who married Nathaniel Cowes [?], Amelia married to Museo Samuel, and Portia[?] married to your orator Eli Morgan and who died about 1818 leaving James, Francis and Lucinda Morgan their surviving children. Sd William Glover at time of his death possessed in his own right and in his wife of land on Dry Creek of Homes Creek and Savannah River adj land of Henry Mealing, Robert Glover, J Lawless and John Martin, John Moore, land subject to division the heirs of William Glover decd. Ask for partition of land

David Glover to Jeremiah Hatcher, both of Edgefield Co., SC for 60 pounds, sold 250 acres on Turkey Creek a branch of Stevens Creek originally granted 7 April 1770 unto Robert Gillam and was conveyed Aug. 1770 unto John Dooly and conveyed by Thomas Dooley heir at law to David Glover Oct. 1793.
